How do we do business with freighters and shippers? 

Since March 2021, we have been working in partnership with Rijnmond Logistics B.V., a ship freight broker from Papendrecht. We had already explored this idea for cooperation a few times, but the time wasn't right yet. In the spring of 2021, all the pieces of the puzzle fell together perfectly. 

We found each other in the same pleasant style of doing business. It's a style of mutually benefitting one another, give and take - not simply grabbing the profits for your own business. And within this business relationship, that attitude yields great results for both of us. 

The principle of give and take only works if you respect that the other person has a right to their fair share and if you'll give each other a little something. It works only if you're willing to share your margins and bottom lines with each other. This kind of partnership requires openness and transparency. For us, this is a particularly pleasant way of doing business.

This means that you do not necessarily go for the best paid trip and that the customer accepts that they are not always in the front row for a dime. But they can be assured that if there is a scarcity of ship space, and that happens about three times a year, we will be there for them and won't leave them in the lurch or charge extortionate prices. We sail with a good understanding with both our customers and partners.

INTERESSED IN TRANSPORTING WITH THE VISCO?

The Visco mainly sails coal to Karlsruhe and then takes aggregate back to Hasselt, Meppel or Ketelbrug. But the Visco also transports rapeseed, clay, corn, cement, containers and rolls of iron. The Visco is a fast ship, ensuring that loads are delivered super-fast to the unloading point. We're all about saving on days, not on fuel, giving our customers a favourable price tag.
